2021 Oscars Winners: ‘Nomadland’ Wins Best Picture, Director & Actress

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The 93rd Academy Awards aired live on ABC last night and apparently it was quite the event. I’m just messing with you, I have no idea how it went because I didn’t watch it. Did anyone? I mean, who watches an awards show live on TV anymore when all the winners and best moments will be rapidly shared across social media instantly after it happens?

Anyway, I guess the most noteworthy moment was when they didn’t end the night awarding Best Picture (they did that third to last) and decided to do Best Actor last. I guess they were hoping for Chadwick Boseman to win, but Anthony Hopkins won instead for The Father. Only he wasn’t there to accept the award so apparently the event just ended. And that is why you hire a host for these sort of events. It (hopefully) helps fill some of that awkward silence these award shows tend to have throughout the night.

But enough talking about a show I didn’t see. Let’s check out the full list of 2021 Oscars winners (in bold) below.
