PunkFilmTrailers debuted an official trailer for …And Out Comes The Wolf, a coming-of-rage movie about a bunch of outcasts coming together as one.
I was definitely a Rancid fan back in the ’90s. The one-two punch of Let’s Go! plus …And Out Comes The Wolves were just great back-to-back punk records. And when I initially heard this film was being made, I thought it was a a biopic of the band. But, it’s actually it’s own drama that’s inspired by the 1995 album. On first watch, I don’t think it will be anywhere near as good as recent punk movies like Green Room, Bomb City or Dinner in America (thanks for that recommendation, Sailor). But, it does look to have some promise.
To start, the cast is pretty decent. To start, it’s got Giancarlo Esposito, Harold Perrineau, Taryn Manning and Ryan Hurst in there. The whole film is set in the 90s East Bay punk music scene. And based on the trailer it looks like it will keep that crust-punk San Francisco vibe to it.
I do think it’s interesting that the film was initially title Out Comes the Wolves (which I kinda liked better) and was reworked to be more singular. But I guess it’s not that big of a deal. So let’s see what happens when the film actually comes out.
Written by Danny Peykoff (in his directorial debut) and Jason and Jamie Neese (producers of Umbrella Academy). All have worked together to produce Kevin Costner’s recent wester epic Horizon.
Plot Synopsis:
…And Out Comes The Wolf just says it is Coming Soon. So we’ll see.
