‘Atomic Blonde 2’ Could Get Made For a Streaming Service

Everyone is always talking about the world needing a black James Bond or a female James Bond, but nobody bothers to go to the theaters and watch original films starring diverse characters that could easily go toe-to-toe with 007. Case in point: Atomic Blonde.

Charlize Theron starred as the badass titular character in a film set during the Cold War. It’s been two years since the film was released, and we haven’t heard much about a sequel, until now.

While promoting Hobbs & Shaw, Director David Leitch revealed that there is still talk of a sequel, and that it might skip theaters altogether:

I think there is [still talk of a sequel]. A streaming service is into it. I don’t know all the details. I was a work-for-hire on that movie, but at the end of the day, Kelly McCormick – my producing partner and my wife – she will be involved, I’m sure, as a producer. That’s how I got the gig in the first place. We’ll see.

I am totally down for more Atomic Blonde, but this is the type of R-rated action thriller that deserves to be seen in theaters. It looks like more and more R-rated action films are heading to streaming services, and I just want to see guts and glory on the big screen!

Would you be down for more Atomic Blonde?
