Anyone excited for the upcoming title from Hideo Kojima (of Metal Gear fame) should get pretty amped with the release of a new gameplay trailer; Death Stranding has protagonist Sam Bridges (Norman Reedus) doing a bunch of stealthy things in the uniquely-styled sci-fi world, but we also get to see snippets of story and imaginative technology, as well as some menacing shots of Cliff (portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen).
Enjoy!
Here’s to a situation where briefcase-fu, bottled babies and really big backpacks actually look like an enticing prospect; like any great trailer, it’s pretty hard to gauge exactly where all this is going but damn, that is a pretty awesome looking setting.
The game not only has an allstar cast in Reedus and Mikkelsen, but will also costar Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Léa Seydoux (Oh Mercy!), Troy Baker (you know his work), Guillermo del Toro (you DEFINITELY know his work) and Nicolas Winding Refn (Director of Neon Demon as well as producer in the upcoming Witchfinder General remake).
Furthermore there are hints that the game may be getting an earlier release than expected: a tweet reported by TechRadar seems to hint that we’ll be getting into the story as soon as the 8th of November this year. There’s no official confirmation of that date but here’s hoping.
Also early reviews seem to be glowing, with the proposed director of the Metal Gear Solid film (still in negotiations) Jordan Vogt-Roberts having played an advanced copy compared Death Stranding to his first viewing of Mad Max: Fury Road.
Other industry insiders have come forward to simply add: “It’s the tits!”
