Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.
Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.
Back in the day, I really enjoyed Freaks and Geeks. It was very relatable and it had Linda Cardellini in it. But over the years, pretty much anything with Paul Feig’s name attached to it I genuinely avoid. Most recently my wife and I were gonna throw on something dumb to pass the time. Jackpot! was right there on Prime. So, when I saw his name pop up in the trailer I just said “no”. There’s just something about his type of humor I don’t really like these days. Honestly, the only film I don’t mind of his is Unaccompanied Minors, I thought that was kinda fun. Otherwise, he’s a hard pass for me.
So, the question I ask today is: Is there a movie director’s films that you just won’t watch?
I’m sure I’m in the minority on this one, but my mind is made up. Personally, I think Bridesmaids is overrated. I didn’t really find it to be nearly as funny as everyone else did at the time. Then he rolled out The Heat, Spy and Ghostbusters with Melissa McCarthy and none of them interested me. I saw 5 min worth of Ghostbusters and hated what I saw.
But, I want to hear what you guys have to say about it all.
So what about you, wastelanders? Is there a movie director’s films that you just won’t watch?
I’ll see you in the trenches.
