There’s a new John Rambo in Hollywood, and his name is Noah Centineo.
According to Deadline, The Recruit actor is attached to star in the Rambo prequel movie, John Rambo, which will be directed by Sisu director Jalmari Helander. Centineo began his career on television with roles in Austin & Ally and The Fosters before achieving wider recognition with a starring role in the Netflix film trilogy To All the Boys. He also appeared as Atom Smasher in the DC Extended Universe movie Black Adam opposite Dwayne Johnson.
Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani wrote the screenplay for John Rambo, which will serve as an origin story for the title character and will be set during the Vietnam War. Lionsgate is the front-runner to secure distribution rights. A fall shoot in Thailand is the plan if everything comes together in time. Sylvester Stallone, who originated the role of John Rambo, is not involved in the project at this time.
