Kyle Allen to Lead Netflix’s ‘Masters of the Universe’ Movie

Kyle Allen has the power!

The West Side Story actor has been cast as Prince Adam / He-Man in Netflix‘s upcoming Masters of the Universe movie.

Noah Centineo was previously announced to play He-Man in 2019, back when the film was in development with Sony. No word was given on why Centineo departed the role.

Adam Nee and Aaron Nee, known collectively as the Nee Brothers, are still on board to direct the feature film. They recently completed a new draft of the film’s script with David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings).

Masters of the Universe will be the first time the characters have been portrayed in live-action since the 1987 film of the same name. That film was a critical and commercial failure upon release, but has since become a cult classic.

In Masters of the Universe, “He-Man, aka Prince Adam, is the heir to the throne of the planet Eternia. Thanks to his magical Power Sword, Prince Adam can transform into He-Man to defend his kingdom and Castle Grayskull from the evil sorcerer Skeletor and his band of minions.”

Filming will begin in New Mexico this June. More casting announcements should be revealed soon.
