New ‘Birds of Prey’ Trailer

Warner Bros. has just released the new Birds of Prey trailer and it is a huge improvement (in my opinion) over the first trailer.

Okay, now I’m starting to get sold on this film. I always enjoyed Robbie’s portrayal of Harley Quinn, but I was skeptical that she needed to be one of the leads of a Birds of Prey adaptation. I was especially bummed when it was announced Barbara Gordon/Batgirl/Oracle wouldn’t even be part of the film.

That said, this trailer has done a good job showcasing the crazier aspects of this film. Harley Quinn as an unreliable narrator is definitely a plus. And we finally got to see McGregor slip on a black mask. I’m glad the DC Extended Universe is finally branching away from Superman and Batman, so here’s hoping Birds of Prey kickstarts a new franchise! (And by that I mean I want a sequel that introduces Batgirl or Oracle!)

Plot Synopsis:

You ever hear the one about the cop, the songbird, the psycho and the mafia princess? “Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)” is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it. When Gotham’s most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya’s paths collide, and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down.

Birds of Prey hits theaters February 7, 2020.
