After watching the first Morbius trailer and seeing how Sony has shoved winks to the MCU in it, Marvel Studios went ahead and released a special look at Black Widow. It’s basically just a longer clip from the scene involving Florence Pugh’s Black Widow, but we do get a better look at Taskmaster.
There’s nothing I like more than competing Marvel productions vying for my attention. Unfortunately for Sony, I liked Morbius up until it shoved a random Michael Keaton cameo at the end of the trailer. Luckily for Marvel, this Special Look hit me just right.
Taskmaster gets more love here than he did in the first trailer. His costume looks closer to a comic accurate version, and his copycat fighting skill set is teased.
It still looks like the third act will be a Michael Bay explosion fest, which I was hoping would be avoided in a spy film. But overall, I’m liking the interactions between the cast and think this could be a nice palette cleanser after Endgame.
