Pom Klementieff Joins ‘Mission: Impossible’ Sequels; John Turturro is Carmine Falcone in ‘The Batman’

Pom Klementieff has officially joined the cast of Mission: Impossible 7 and 8. She joins returning stars Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson, as well as newcomer Hayley Atwell.

Christopher McQuarrie, who took over as director for the franchise with 2015’s Rogue Nation, announced the casting on his Instagram:

Klementieff is most famous for her role as Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I’m interested to see how McQuarrie utilizes her in the film’s cast of characters, especially after Henry Cavill stole almost all his scenes in last year’s Fallout.

Mission: Impossible 7 hits theaters July 23, 2021. Mission: Impossible 8 hits theaters a year later on August 5, 2022.

Director Matt Reeves has added John Turturro to The Batman‘s growing cast. Reeves announced the casting on his Twitter:

Turturro will be the third actor to play mob boss Carmine Falcone in live-action. Tom Wilkinson played the character in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins in 2005, and, more recently, John Doman played him on the Fox TV series Gotham.

The Batman is rumored to be based on The Long Halloween storyline which Falcone factors heavily into the plot. We should begin to know more as The Batman aims to begin shooting early next year.

The Batman hits theaters June 25, 2021.

What do you think of the two bits of casting? Are you excited to see John Turturro in a Batman film, and Pom Klementieff being forced by Tom Cruise to do her own stunts?
