Aaron Pierre Joins ‘Man of Tomorrow’ Ahead of DCU Debut in ‘Lanterns’

Aaron Pierre has set his DC Universe return ahead of his debut as John Stewart / Green Lantern in Lanterns.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Pierre has joined the cast of Man of TomorrowJames Gunn‘s sequel to last year’s Superman. Production on the DCU blockbuster is slated to begin next month in Atlanta.

Pierre joins an ensemble that currently includes David Corenswet (Clark Kent / Superman), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Lars Eidinger (Brainiac), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), and Maria Gabriella de Faria (The Engineer).

Man of Tomorrow will serve as Pierre’s second appearance in the DCU, after Lanterns, which is scheduled to premiere on HBO in August. Lanterns follows new recruit John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. The first trailer was released last week.

Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to hit theaters on July 9, 2027, as the fourth film of the DCU.
