The 100 Greatest Movie Teaser Trailers (90-81)

It’s been a little over a week since Lucasfilm released the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and it really got me thinking about some of the other truly fantastic movie teasers from over the years. To me, a great teaser should really do just that… tease you like no tomorrow and leave you wanting more. Kinda like this girl I knew back in my younger years… but I digress. Whether it is a scene filmed just to wet your appetites, actual footage from the film or a sequence of images shown quickly on the screen, if it does a good job, I can guarantee your ass will be in that seat on opening day.

Here’s some of the best teaser trailers from over the years.

90. IT (2017)

A great reintroduction to the Stephen King novel.

89. Ghostbusters 3 (2020)

I’m still not sure we need this movie, but it is a pretty cool teaser.

88. Lilo & Stitch (2002)

There’s actually 4 here, since they did a great job of putting Stitch in other Disney hits.

87. Kill Bill (2003)

The 4th film by Quentin Tarantino

86. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (2009)

To know the future … return to the past.

85. Last Action Hero (1993)

Great teaser that breaks the fourth wall.

84. Joker (2019)

This fall’s Joker is an interesting departure from recent DC movies.

83. Batman (1989)

And on the other end of the spectrum of DC movies, a rare Batman teaser.

82. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (2005)

I know this movie may have disappointed fans of the book, but I thought it was fun.

81. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Say what you want about the prequels, but George Lucas now how to make a teaser.
