WHAT I WATCHED THIS WEEK
The Last Samurai (2003) – This is one of those films I just never really cared to see. Well, that was dumb of me. It’s a surprisingly solid flick that keeps you engaged. As much as I expected it to be a white man savior film, it really is more about the acceptance of both sides coming together as one. 3.75/5
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) – I saw this in the theaters when it came out. I was on a work trip and had a few hours to kill before my flight and the hotel had a theater in it. So what the hell, right? I remember it being absolutely trash. Well, I have to say, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I remembered. It’s not great but it is serviceable. They really did fuck up Deadpool though. But, at least they got to fix that AND make fun of this version in the second DP movie. 3/5
