Netflix has released an official trailer for Dead Boy Detectives, an upcoming drama series that is part of Neil Gaiman‘s The Sandman Universe. Let’s take a look.

Originally in development at HBO Max as a spinoff of Doom Patrol, Dead Boy Detectives eventually moved to Netflix and became part of The Sandman Universe. As witnessed in the trailer, The Sandman‘s Kirby Howell-Baptiste will reprise her role as Death of the Endless in Dead Boy Detectives.

George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri headline Dead Boy Detectives as Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland, respectively. The rest of the cast includes Kassius Nelson as Crystal Palace, Briana Cuoco as Jenny the Butcher, Yuyu Kitamura as Niko, and Jenn Lyon as Esther, with Ruth Connell returning as the Night Nurse after playing the character in Doom Patrol.

Plot Synopsis:

Edwin and Charles are best friends, ghosts… and the best detectives on the Mortal plane. They will do anything to stick together – including escaping evil witches, Hell and Death herself. With the help of a clairvoyant named Crystal and her friend Niko, they are able to crack some of the mortal realm’s most mystifying paranormal cases.

Dead Boy Detectives begins streaming on Netflix on April 25, 2024.
