Does ‘Skeleton Crew’ Prove ‘Star Wars’ Isn’t Beyond Repair?

Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.


There’s been a lot of talk since, well, Disney bought Lucasfilm that the Star Wars brand was broken. That the fandom had been split and it would be impossible to make something that all factions of the Star Wars fandom enjoyed. The Mandalorian Season 1 came close, but then Season 2 began to further tie itself into the Skywalker Saga, which wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Ahsoka, The Acolyte, and The Book of Boba Fett have their fans, but not everyone likes them.

Originally, this QOTD was going to be titled “Is Star Wars Beyond Repair?,” but then Skeleton Crew came out and did the unthinkable. It managed to get great reviews from critics and audiences. With a mostly standalone story, Skeleton Crew has seemingly won over the fandom, with the only major complaint I’ve seen being “I don’t want to watch kids in a Star Wars show.”

So, the question I ask today is: does Skeleton Crew prove Star Wars can still win over its entire fandom?
