New ‘Dora and the Lost City of Gold’ Trailer

Paramount has just released the new Dora and the Lost City of Gold trailer. Do you see the play button? There it is!

You had us and then you lost us. That first Dora trailer was surprisingly good, but this one just crapped all over it. The CGI Boots and Swiper look like they’ve come straight out of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie and there is a fart joke. Seriously? This had the chance to be a mature, action-oriented take on a children’s franchise, and they blew it.

But it looks like Danny Trejo could be voicing the monkey, so… is that considered a win?

Plot Synopsis:

Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever – High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeff Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Peña) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold hits theaters August 9, 2019.
