Netflix has released an official trailer for Rebecca, a new adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s Gothic classic that was previously adapted in 1940 by Alfred Hitchcock. Fun fact: Rebecca was the only one of Hitchock’s films to win Best Picture at the Oscars. That’s some big shoes for Ben Wheatley‘s version to fill. Let’s take a look.
I’ll definitely be adding this to my October watchlist. I think Armie Hammer and Lily James are some of the best actors working today, and while I didn’t fall in love with Wheatley’s High-Rise, I’m willing to give him another chance.
Plot Synopsis:
Rebecca begins streaming October 21, 2020 on Netflix.
