There have been a couple of changes to the 2026 release calendar.
Per Variety, Sony has delayed Spider-Man 4 by a week, moving the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie from July 24, 2026 to July 31, 2026. No reason was given for the delay, although Christopher Nolan’s next movie, The Odyssey, is dated for release on July 17, 2026. Since Tom Holland is slated to have a large role in that forthcoming epic fantasy film, it’s likely the delay was made to give the two Holland movies some breathing room.
The only other major release date news is that Lionsgate has dated its next Jason Statham movie. Per Deadline, Mutiny will open in theaters on January 9, 2026. Directed by Jean-François Richet, the film follows Statham’s Cole Reed, who after seeing his billionaire industrialist boss murdered in front of him, is set up to take the fall for the crime — leaving him on the run as he works to uncover an international conspiracy. Annabelle Wallis and Roland Møller also star.
That’s all!
Are you seeing either of these movies in theaters?
