‘Spider-Man 4’ Sets Release Date, Tom Holland Teases ‘Crazy’ Sequel Story

It’s official: Spider-Man will be swinging back into theaters in 2026.

Per The Hollywood ReporterSony has scheduled Spider-Man 4 to hit theaters on July 24, 2026. Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man for the seventh time in the untitled Spider-Man 4, while Destin Daniel Cretton is now confirmed as the movie’s director.

Plot details remain under wraps for Spider-Man 4, although we know the movie is going to pick up a few years after the events of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw Peter Parker finally becoming the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man we all know (and prefer) after Doctor Strange erased everyone’s memories of the young hero to protect the multiverse.

Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are co-writing Spider-Man 4, which is rumored to be either a grounded street-level movie or another multiverse adventure with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Mans (and maybe even Venom). While promoting his brand-new non-alcoholic beer, Bero, on Good Morning America, Holland shared that the idea for Spider-Man 4 “is crazy,” adding, “It’s a little different to anything we’ve done before, but I think the fans are gonna really respond to it.”

Spider-Man 4 will be released during Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as two months after Avengers: Doomsday. Holland is expected to make an appearance in Doomsday as Spider-Man, although the extent of his role remains unconfirmed. However, with Doomsday shooting at roughly the same time as Christopher Nolan’s next movie, which Holland recently became attached to, it may be tough for the actor to do both. I guess time will tell.

Spider-Man 4 hits theaters on July 24, 2026.

Are you pumped for more of Holland’s Spider-Man? Who do you want to see him face in the sequel?
