Netflix has released the official trailer for The Willoughbys, based on the Lois Lowry novel of the same name.
The animation looks pretty unique (almost like a blend between CGI and stop-motion), but the story looks meh. I like the idea of the parents leaving to go on an adventure, but a part of me thinks watching the parents go on the adventure would be more fun than just kids escaping child services.
However, the voice cast for this film is absolutely insane. It has Will Forte, Maya Rudolph, Alessia Cara, Terry Crews, Martin Short, Jane Krakowski, Séan Cullen, and Ricky Gervais all lending their voices.
Plot Synopsis:
Convinced they’d be better off raising themselves, the Willoughby children hatch a sneaky plan to send their selfish parents on vacation. The siblings then embark on their own high-flying adventure to find the true meaning of family.
The Willoughbys begins streaming April 22, 2020 on Netflix.
