Bear Country has added to its ensemble as filming gets underway in Australia.

According to Deadline, Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Luke Evans (Fast & Furious 6), and Daniel Zovatto (Woman of the Hour) have joined Russell Crowe, Nina Dobrev, and Teresa Palmer in the action-thriller, which will be directed by Derrick Borte (Unhinged).

Bear Country follows “an aging but formidable club owner, Manco Kapak (Crowe) who has been robbed by a masked gunman. Now, his aspirations of selling his club and riding off into the sunset alongside his girlfriend appear more distant than ever. Cartel bosses are breathing down his neck and a young upstart has been posing as the new guy in town eager to purchase the club.”

Paul will play “Jeff, an unassuming community college teacher who gets roped into a dirty cop’s robbery scheme.” Evans is taking on the role of “Joe Carver, an undercover federal agent posing as a potential buyer for Kapak’s club in hopes of infiltrating the cartel he’s washing money for,” while Zovatto will play “Rodriguez, the cartel’s top man in Los Angeles.”

Bear Country marks a reunion of sorts for Borte and Crowe. Borte directed the 2020 action thriller Unhinged, which starred Crowe as a vengeance-obsessed stranger who terrorizes a young woman following a hostile verbal altercation at a traffic light.
