It’s official: Krysten Ritter is heading back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jessica Jones.
Per Deadline, Ritter’s MCU return was revealed during Disney’s Upfront presentation in New York City earlier today. She will make her long-awaited return as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which is currently in production in NYC.
“It is so great to be back. Returning to Jessica after three seasons, and the Defenders and now joining the MCU. I am so excited to bring back this iconic character. Without giving too much away… there’s much in store for Jessica Jones – this is going to be an incredible season,” Ritter said on stage at the Upfronts presentation.
Ritter made her debut as Jessica Jones in the eponymous Netflix series, which ran for three seasons from 2015 to 2019. The character also appeared in the miniseries The Defenders, which brought Ritter’s Jessica Jones together with the rest of the streamer’s street-level Marvel heroes — Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage.
Daredevil: Born Again is set several years after the original Netflix series. Speaking at the upfronts, Daredevil actor Charlie Cox had the following to say about the upcoming season:
“Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again was an incredible experience, and the response from fans and audiences has been overwhelming. The good news is we’re just getting started. We’re currently shooting Season 2, and it is heading in a bold new direction. I’m excited to finally suit up in the iconic black Daredevil suit – complete with the interlocking Ds on the chest. It’s something fans have been asking me about for over a decade, and that’s just the beginning of what we’ve got in store this season.”
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2026.
