Here’s something really cool that I stumbled across on YouTube last week. It’s a trailer for a potential live-action series based on the Scooby-Doo multi-media franchise. Mystery Incorporated takes inspiration from shows like Supernatural and Riverdale (if that last one wasn’t obvious from the trailer) and updates the classic animated Hanna-Barbera show for a new generation.
Personally, I would watch this in a heartbeat. I prefer when Scooby-Doo moves into darker territory and showcases real monsters and mature storylines like in Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island. I think the cast is having a lot of fun, and I want to see this pilot get made. The team behind Mystery Incorporated currently has an Indiegogo campaign running to help get a pilot filmed. The goal is to “create a state of the art hour long pilot episode that is just as high quality as anything you may see on television or Netflix.”
Oh, and I’m pretty sure I mentioned Zombie Island earlier so here is Dade Elza (Fred) and Chris Villain (Shaggy) doing a cover of the film’s theme song “It’s Terror Time Again”:
What are your thoughts on the above videos? Would you support this project or watch the pilot when it is released on YouTube? Do you want to see a new live-action Scooby-Doo film or series?
