Many people (myself included) regard Hayao Miyazaki as the greatest animator who’s ever lived. Each of his eleven films are masterpieces and are among the best of their respected genres. His impact on cinema is incalculable, with many animators, filmmakers and even authors citing him as a major influence. J.K. Rowling listed Kiki’s Delivery Service as one of her inspirations for Harry Potter and it’s been strongly rumored that The Castle of Cagliostro was one of the films that Spielberg referenced while making Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Kaptain Kristian’s video ‘Hayao Miyazaki- How Animation Comes to Life‘ examines his work, its impact on the industry and why his films feel so magical.

What did you think about Kaptain Kristian’s video? Have you seen any of the director’s films? And if so, which ones are your favorite?
