More than a decade after the original’s release, Jennifer’s Body 2 may finally be happening.
Per Bloody Disgusting, Amanda Seyfriend teased a sequel to the 2009 cult classic while on the red carpet for her new movie Seven Veils. “I think we’re making another one. I didn’t confirm it! I said, ‘I think’,” the actor said with a wink.
Jennifer’s Body is a comedy horror movie starring Megan Fox as Jennifer Check, a demonically possessed high school student who kills her male classmates and devours their flesh in order to survive. Seyfried co-starred as Jennifer’s best friend Anita “Needy” Lesnicky. Johnny Simmons, J. K. Simmons, Amy Sedaris, and Adam Brody also appeared in supporting roles.
While not a major hit at the time of its release, Jennifer’s Body has since become a cult classic. Diablo Cody, who penned the screenplay for the Karyn Kusama-directed movie, has expressed interest in writing a sequel, revealing to Bloody Disgusting in 2024 that she was “not done with Jennifer’s Body.”
Cody explained, “I just need to find… I need to partner with people who believe it in as much as I do and that hasn’t really happened yet. I need someone to believe in it who has a billion dollars.”
