The full cast for Mike Flanagan‘s The Exorcist has been unveiled as filming kicks off this week in New York City.

According to Deadline, Rahul Kohli, Hamish Linklater, Gil Bellows, Carl Lumbly, Robert Longstreet, Matt Biedel, Samantha Sloyan, Kate Siegel, John Gallagher Jr., Benjamin Pajak, and Carla Gugino have rounded out the cast of the untitled The Exorcist reboot. All 11 actors have previously worked with Flanagan, either on one of his many Netflix series or as part of the ensemble of his features, like last year’s The Life of Chuck.

They join the previously announced Scarlett Johansson, Jacobi Jupe, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laurence Fishburne, John Leguizamo, Sasha Calle, and Diane Lane. Character details for all remain under wraps, although Johansson is reportedly playing a mom, with Jupe her son. Leguizamo may also be playing an antagonist.

Flanagan is writing, directing, and producing the new Exorcist, which will tell an all-new story set in The Exorcist universe. It will not be a sequel to 2023’s The Exorcist: Believer. Principal photography got underway on March 2 in New York City.

The untitled The Exorcist movie will be released in theaters by Universal on March 12, 2027.
