The original diva superstar is getting her own Muppets movie.
Actor Jennifer Lawrence revealed on Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ Las Culturistas podcast (via Deadline) that she is producing a Miss Piggy for Disney. “I don’t know if I can announce this, but I’m just going to. Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie and Cole [Escola] is writing it,” she remarked. The actor also confirmed that she and Stone will likely appear in the movie, adding, “I think so, we have to.”
In a statement that ScreenAge Wasteland exclusively obtained from Miss Piggy, the muppet shared her excitement at getting her own movie: “It’s about time that moi got her own movie. I just know Joan is rolling over in her grave at this news.” (Disclaimer: This is clearly a joke. Don’t sue us, Disney.)
The Miss Piggy movie news comes just two months after it was revealed that Seth Rogen was developing a new take on The Muppet Show for Disney+. The special featuring guest star Sabrina Carpenter will air in 2026, coinciding with the show’s 50th anniversary.
