Marvel Studios is done fucking around.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joe and Anthony Russo, a.k.a. the Russo Brothers, are in early talks to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to direct the next two Avengers movies — Avengers 5 (fka Avengers: The Kang Dynasty) and Avengers: Secret Wars.
The filmmaking duo previously helmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
This news comes after Marvel has struggled for the past year (or two) to find a director (or two) to helm the hotly-anticipated follow-ups to Endgame. Destin Daniel Cretton was at one point attached to direct Avengers 5 but he departed to focus on Shang-Chi 2.
Avengers 5 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, followed by Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
