‘Scream 8’ in the Works With ‘Poker Face’ Showrunners Writing Script

Ghostface will live to torment Sidney Prescott another day. Scream 8 has just been confirmed.

According to DeadlineSpyglass is developing an eighth installment in the Scream franchise. Lilla and Nora Zuckerman are attached to write the screenplay. The pair are best known for serving as showrunners for the hit Peacock series Poker Face. They also worked as writers and co-executive producers on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Suits, Fringe, and Prodigal Son.

For anyone following the box office, an eighth Scream was a no-brainer, considering that Scream 7 recently became the first franchise entry to cross the $200 million milestone. Scream creator Kevin Williamson co-wrote the seventh movie’s screenplay with Guy Busick in addition to directing. No word yet on whether Williamson will helm Scream 8.

Scream 7 reintroduced audiences to Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott after she was absent from Scream VI due to a pay dispute. The sequel also featured the debut of Prescott’s daughter, Tatum, played by Isabel May.

With a new franchise co-lead introduced, a whole new set of stories is now available for writers. Watch out, Tatum Prescott, Ghostface will be coming for you again soon.
