Sean Durkin and A24 are making another movie together.

According to Deadline, Saoirse Ronan and Austin Butler are set to star in Deep Cuts, Durkin’s The Iron Claw follow-up at A24. The movie will be based on the debut novel of Holly Brickley. Durkin will write and direct the adaptation.

Set in the 2000s, Deep Cuts is a love story about two music-obsessed twentysomethings navigating the messy realities of ambition, belonging and adulthood over the course of an era-defining decade. Ronan is also on board as a producer, along with Central’s Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush, and Josh Safdie.

Durkin last directed the 2023 biopic, The Iron Claw, starring Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White. The movie was a critical darling as well as a domestic box office hit for A24. At the 5th Annual ScreenAge Wasteland Awards, The Iron Claw received six nominations, including Best Picture and Best Breakout Film Direction, and won for Best Onscreen Ensemble.

As for Ronan and Butler, they are both coming off a pretty successful 2024. Ronan starred in the World War II drama Blitz as well as Sony Pictures Classics’ The Outrun, while Butler appeared in Dune: Part TwoThe Bikeriders, and Masters of the Air.

Deep Cuts does not yet have a release date.
