Bridget Fonda in 1992's Single White Female

Jenna Ortega‘s Single White Female remake just got a terrible title change.

According to Deadline3000 Pictures‘ Single White Female remake is now simply Single Female. I gotta say, I’m not a fan. It really needs a third descriptor in the title. Even Single Female Wanted adds the necessary punch this title is now sorely missing.

Bodies Bodies Bodies‘ Sarah DeLappe has also been brought on to pen the script for the remake of the 1992 horror drama film that starred Bridget Fonda and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Ortega and Taylor Russell will be the leads of the remake. They will both also be producers.

What Happens in Single White Female?

In the 1992 movie, Fonda played Allison, a woman who takes in Hedra (Leigh) as a roommate, only to bring into her Upper West Side flat a terrifying stalker worthy of a suspense thriller.

Single White Female was a modest box office hit, grossing $48 million domestically against a production budget of $16 million. which was made for $16 million and grossed $48 million domestically. A direct-to-video sequel, Single White Female 2: The Psycho, was released in 2005 and starred Kristen Miller.

What do you think of the new, shorter title? How would you fix it?
