Sadie Sink is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to Deadline, the Stranger Things actor has been cast in Spider-Man 4. Tom Holland is so far the only other cast member attached to the MCU movie, reprising his role from previous installments as Peter Parker / Spider-Man.
Character details for Sink remain under wraps, although Deadline is quick to note that the actor has been rumored as one of the stars Marvel Studios wants for its X-Men reboot. Whether she will appear as X-Men character Jean Grey remains the case. Deadline also notes that Sink could very well play “another beloved redheaded Spider-Man character.” The MCU already has its take on Mary Jane Watson (even if it is a radically new one), but Sink could play someone like May Parker, the daughter of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, especially if Spider-Man 4 ends up being another multiverse movie.
Where Have You Seen Sadie Sink Before?
Sink is best known for her role as Max Mayfield in the Netflix series Stranger Things, which she joined during its second season. Her other notable film and television credits include NBC’s American Odyssey, Netflix’s Fear Street trilogy, and the Brendan Fraser-led drama film The Whale.
Plot details remain under wraps for Spider-Man 4, although we know the movie is going to pick up a few years after the events of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw Peter Parker finally becoming the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man we all know (and prefer) after Doctor Strange erased everyone’s memories of the young hero to protect the multiverse.
Holland also shared in October 2024 that the idea for Spider-Man 4 “is crazy,” adding, “It’s a little different to anything we’ve done before, but I think the fans are gonna really respond to it.”
Spider-Man 4 is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
