Spider-Man: Brand New Day doesn’t hit theaters until the end of July, but that hasn’t stopped the upcoming superhero movie from breaking a pretty impressive record with its first trailer
Per Variety, Brand New Day has broken the record for the biggest trailer launch of all time with 718.6 million views in 24 hours. The previous record holder was another Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Deadpool & Wolverine, which dropped its first trailer during the 2024 Super Bowl, racking up 365 million views. The Brand New Day trailer blew past that viewership total after just eight hours.
However, this isn’t the only trailer record that Spider-Man: Brand New Day has broken. Simply put, it’s the biggest trailer ever, surpassing the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer that pulled in 475 million views in 24 hours. So, yeah, I think we can say that the anticipation for Brand New Day is at an all-time high.
Brand New Day Takes Place 4 Years After No Way Home
“Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced,” reads the synopsis for Brand New Day.
Destin Daniel Cretton directed Brand New Day from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker / Spider-Man for the seventh time in the MCU in Brand New Day.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens in theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
