Stephen King Short Story ‘Rest Stop’ To Be Adapted To Screen

Legendary has approached Alex Ross Perry (Her Smell) to write and direct Stephen King’s psychological thriller short Rest Stop into a feature motion picture.

Originally published in the December 2003 issue of Esquire Magazine, the story is described by Dateline as “a propulsive cat and mouse thriller, the plot follows the twisted journey of two women after a fateful encounter at a highway rest stop.”

The short story won the National Magazine Award for Fiction in 2004, and Perry is also known for his co-writing duties alongside Ewan McGregor in Disney’s Christopher Robin which was released in 2018.
