Legendary and Capcom‘s Street Fighter movie has found its director.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kitao Sakurai is kicking it to the street attached to direct Street Fighter. Talk to Me filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou were at one point in talks to direct the live-action movie, but that version is no longer moving forward. Sakurai is perhaps best known for writing, directing, and executive producing The Eric Andre Show.
Street Fighter will be a feature adaptation of the classic video game from Capcom. The video game developer is heavily involved with the movie and is on board as a co-developer and co-producer alongside Legendary. Sony will distribute, with a March 20, 2026 release date already set for Street Fighter.
