Disney is taking another crack at remaking Tangled in live-action.
After pausing development on the remake earlier this year following the critical and commercial failure of Snow White, Disney has now resumed development on the project, according to Deadline. Michael Gracey and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson are still attached to serve as director and writer on the Tangled redo, respectively.
Additionally, Scarlett Johansson is circling the role of Mother Gothel, the villain of the story. No word yet on who Disney may have its eye on for Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Despite resuming development, Deadline stresses that the remake has not yet been formally greenlit.
