Another season of The Penguin may be in the works.
As part of Variety‘s Directors on Directors series, Matt Reeves and Zoë Kravitz sat down to discuss their projects The Batman (and the wider Epic Crime Saga) and Blink Twice, respectively. When Kravitz asked Reeves if more spinoff series were in the works, Reeves shared that there have been discussions about extending The Penguin, which was originally conceived as a limited series.
“Yeah, we’re talking to [showrunner] Lauren [LeFranc] about doing another season. That was a special experience. I just feel really fortunate. These characters don’t belong to me; they belong to the world. It comes down to whether you can approach them in a way that expresses something personal.”
With Colin Farrell‘s Oz Cobb / Penguin set to appear in The Batman Part II, a second season of The Penguin would likely be set after the events of the upcoming DC sequel. Unfortunately, with Part II not set to hit theaters until October 2026 this likely means that The Penguin Season 2 would not hit HBO until 2027.
We’ll keep you posted if and when HBO and DC Studios renew The Penguin for a second season.
Would you welcome a second season of The Penguin?
