COVID-19 continues to have an impact on upcoming movies. Sony has just moved the upcoming sequel to Venom back eight months. It was originally set to hit theaters October 2, 2020. Now fans will have to wait until June 25, 2021 to see some carnage!

Speaking of carnage, Sony also officially titled the sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Is it a bit too on the nose? I’ll let you tell me down in the comments!

The sequel features Tom Hardy back as Eddie Brock/Venom alongside Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady/Carnage. Michelle Williams and Naomie Harris are also part of the cast and could be suiting up as She-Venom and Shriek, respectively.

Venom earned $856.1 million at the box office making it a much needed win for Sony back in 2018. Along with the critical success of Into the Spider-Verse, the films proved Sony still knew what to do with Spider-Man and Friends without needing Marvel Studios. Of course, it’d be nice if Sony just let Marvel have full creative control, but what can you do?

What do you think of the Venom 2 title? Do you think Spider-Man will make a cameo?
