Warner Bros. recently released a trio of images from its upcoming anime film, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, at the Annecy Animation Festival.
Directed by Kenji Kamiyama, The War of the Rohirrim tells the story of Helm Hammerhand, the ancient king of Rohan, after whom the fortress of Helm’s Deep is named. The first image features Helm’s daughter, Héra, voiced by Gaia Wise, while the second gives us a good look at the film’s villain, Wulf, voiced by Luke Pasqualino. He is leading the armies of Dunlendings against Helm’s kingdom. Hammerhead himself will be voiced by Brian Cox.
It was also mentioned at the festival that the anime film’s runtime is closer to 150 minutes than, the initially envisioned, 90 minutes.
The War of Rohirrim opens in theaters on December 13, 2024.
