Which Non-Horror Franchise Do You Want to See Dabble in the Genre?

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.

Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.

It’s not often that a franchise drastically shifts up its genre. We don’t see John Wick in a rom-com, just like we don’t see The Smurfs shooting up thugs in the streets of New York (or was that what The Smurfs 2 was about?). However, sometimes a franchise will add a touch of horror to one of its installments. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness through in a bit of horror, for instance. But what about a franchise that has never touched the horror genre?

So, the question I ask today is: what franchise should get a horror entry?

My answer is Kingsman. Introduce some villain who has some mist that turns the population into mindless, blood-hungry zombies. It’s that easy.

So what about you, screenagers? Repeat your question to the commenters one last time here.

I’ll see you in the trenches.
