The official trailer for Benedetta has been released. The film is an erotic lesbian nun drama, and trust me when I say that I never expected to have to write that string of words out in my lifetime.
I swear that trailer was one jump scare away from making me believe this film will actually be a lesbian nun horror movie instead of an erotic drama. It definitely looks like it could be interesting, but it also sort of looks similar to those other lesbian dramas that everyone seems to be churning out these days.
Plot Synopsis:
In the late 15th century, with plague ravaging the land, Benedetta Carlini joins the convent in Pescia, Tuscany, as a novice. Capable from an early age of performing miracles, Benedetta’s impact on life in the community is immediate and momentous.
Benedetta will debut at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival between July 6 and July 17. It will hit French cinemas on July 9, 2021.
