‘Chucky’ Teaser: The Killer Doll Hits TV Screens in 2021

Syfy has released the first teaser trailer for Chucky, the upcoming continuation of the popular horror franchise. Just to make things clear, this is part of the original timeline and not the reboot film from last year.

We get absolutely nothing from this teaser in terms of story (thank god for synopses), but who cares because the closing shot is what we came for alone. The silhouette of the killer doll standing in the aisle of the abandoned store, knife in hand. And then a quick jolt and the knife is up ready to attack. Cue evil laugh.

I’m not the biggest Chucky fan, but I do like the idea behind him of a killer doll with the soul of a serial killer. I haven’t watched any other installment in the horror franchise past the original, but the synopsis for this TV series may have me bingeing to catch up.

Plot Synopsis:

After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

Chucky premieres sometime in 2021 on Syfy and the USA network.
