While the Mission: Impossible films are now known for the insanity star Tom Cruise puts himself through to achieve mind-blowing stunts, Lessons from the Screenplay is here to remind us that the films are first and foremost heist films. The below video breaks down the way 1996’s Mission: Impossible and 2015’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation approach their heists.
I really enjoyed seeing how the heists are similar and different between the original film and Rogue Nation. It’s a great study in how you don’t have to change much between heists to make them both stand on their own.
