‘Fatale’ Trailer: One Mistake Can Change Your Life

Lionsgate has released an official trailer for Fatale, an upcoming psychological thriller starring Michael Ealy and Hilary Swank.

Oh man, am I conflicted. I was putting this post together and thought, “this looks like trash.” Then I watched it and the opening thirty second with Ealy and the gun and the narration had be going, “wait, this looks sort of enticing.” Then the rest of the commercial played out and it began to look like another run-of-the-mill thriller. That said, I sort of want to know how it all plays out. I have a suspicion that Swank’s character is batshit crazy. Maybe I’ll have to see this. Damn you, Lionsgate!

Side note: I really like seeing studios put “See it ONLY IN THEATERS” at the end of their trailers. It definitely seems like a subtle jab at certain studios like Warner Bros and their recent hybrid release strategy announcement. Got to love friendly competition.

Plot Synopsis:

After a wild one-night stand, Derrick, a successful sports agent, watches his perfect life slowly disappear when he discovers that the sexy and mysterious woman he risked everything for, is a determined police detective who entangles him in her latest investigation. As he tries desperately to put the pieces together, he falls deeper into her trap, risking his family, his career, and even his life. The film is a suspenseful and provocative psychological thriller and an unpredictable game of cat and mouse where one mistake can change your life.

Fatale hits theaters December 18, 2020.
