With 2025 just around the corner, studios have begun marketing some of next year’s biggest movies.
Empire has released several first look images from some of the most anticipated movies of 2025. First up, Disney‘s Tron: Ares starring Jared Leto. The third installment in Disney’s sci-fi franchise, Ares will feature music by the Nine Inch Nails, which director Joachim Rønning shared has made the sequel feel a little grittier, a little bit more industrial.”
The filmmaker added, “It’s been important for me to contrast The Grid and the real world. In that sense, Nine Inch Nails lends itself perfectly into this new Tron world that we are creating.”
Next up, the long-awaited action movie Havoc, which pairs The Raid filmmaker Gareth Evans with fan-favorite actor Tom Hardy. Evans promises that the movie, which was originally filmed in 2021, will be worth the wait, and that the production delays actually resulted in a better final product.
“It allowed me to better streamline it, and make it what it was always intended to be, which is a blistering, fast-paced action-thriller with nods to the Hong Kong cinema that I grew up watching,” he revealed.
Netflix also debuted an image from Havoc alongside the movie’s synopsis, which reads as follows: “After a drug deal gone wrong, a detective fights his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s son — unraveling a web of corruption and conspiracy ensnaring his entire city.”

We’ve already seen a first look at Jurassic World Rebirth, but here’s another one, which shows Scarlett Johansson‘s Zora Bennett. As for juicy details, director Gareth Edwards teased that the sequel “goes back to what I loved about the original, with an embarrassment of riches of different set-piece-type scenarios and tense, fun action moments. There were a lot of opportunities as a filmmaker to have a lot of fun and try and play games with the audience.”

Finally, the Nobody 2 image sees a bloodied Bob Odenkirk wielding, what I believe is, an Uzi. The Night Comes For Us director Timo Tjahjanto is behind the reins on the action sequel, which will reveal how Odenkirk’s Hutch’s assassin past has affected his family.
“Now that he’s back at it in full throttle, how does his family react to this beast?” teased Tjahjanto. “You’ll see a lot of the questions that fathers and husbands ask — ‘How do they react to this other side of me who’s constantly hustling and working for the family?’ It’s gonna be quite a journey.”
Jurassic World Rebirth hits theaters on July 2, followed by Nobody 2 on August 15, and Tron: Ares on October 10, 2025. Havoc will be released on Netflix on a to-be-announced date in 2025.
