‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Trailer: Jason Reitman Continues the Original Duology 30 Years Later

Sony has released the first trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife and it looks exactly like the sort of continuation fans should have received back in 2016.

I. Am. Sold.

This looks absolutely amazing! This is the perfect trailer to reintroduce the world to the Ghostbusters. It teased a personal and smaller film that will be filled with heart, wonder, and laughs.

I always said that the 2016 reboot wouldn’t have been so severely rejected by the fans if they had just gone the way of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and made the film a legacyquel that explained people forgot that ghosts existed.

Jason Reitman looks like he is doing exactly that by making this family connected to original Ghostbuster Dr. Egon Spengler. We know the original cast is returning, so this should be the Ghostbusters III that fans have been waiting 30 years to see.

As well, check out some official stills from the trailer.

Plot Synopsis:

When a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife hits theaters July 10, 2020.

What did you think of the trailer? Will you be watching this in theaters?
