Hailee Steinfeld is Kate Bishop in ‘Hawkeye’ Series

And we have our next Hawkeye!

Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit, Bumblebee) has been confirmed to be playing Kate Bishop in the upcoming Hawkeye series for Disney+. The reveal came after a new set video was released showing Steinfeld, Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton/Hawkeye), and Lucky the Pizza Dog! Here’s the clip, thanks to @DiscussingFilm and @BRMarvelNews.

The video comes just after Steinfeld teased the role on her Instagram account. She captioned her most recent post: “see u in ✨11✨ days, 24. 🏹.” The majority of her caption is in regards to her upcoming birthday, but the bow and arrows made fans think that Steinfeld would announce her casting on her birthday. Well, that may still be the case, but we now know that she is in fact confirmed for Hawkeye.

Steinfeld has seemingly been Marvel Studios‘ first and only choice for the role. There were rumors a few months ago that Steinfeld would be unable to take on the role due to her commitment to the Apple TV+ show Dickinson. That no longer looks to be a problem, and I for one am very happy Steinfeld will be our next Hawkeye.

The series is currently shooting in New York under the working title “Anchor Point”, which serves as an homage to Kate Bishop’s first solo comic series after appearing in Young Avengers.

The series will be directed by Amber Finlayson and Katie Ellwood, and Rhys Thomas. Hawkeye is expected to premiere on Disney+ in Fall 2021.

Are you excited Steinfeld will be Kate Bishop? Who else did you have in mind for the role?
