Hulu has released an official trailer for How I Met Your Father, the upcoming How I Met Your Mother-adjacent comedy series. Let’s take a look and see how it’s going to differentiate itself from its predecessor.
Okay, I’ll give it an episode or two. How I Met Your Mother is one of my favorite comedy series, and I grew up with Hilary Duff on the Disney Channel, so I feel obligated to give this a shot.
The inclusion of Kim Cattrall actually playing an older Sophie instead of just acting as narrator is a choice. I’m interested in seeing if it pays off.
Plot Synopsis:
How I Met Your Father takes place in the near future, as Sophie tells her son the story of how she met his father. The retelling catapults us back to the year 2022, where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends — Jesse (Chris Lowell), Valentina (Francia Raisa), Charlie (Tom Ainsley), Ellen (Tien Tran) and Sid (Suraj Sharma) — are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.
The first two episodes of How I Met Your Father begin streaming January 18, 2022 on Hulu.
