Zack Snyder, known for films like 300, Watchmen, Man of Steel, and Batman v Superman, often finds himself at the center of heated debates. Critics are quick to label his work as style-over-substance or overly grim. This backlash might be overhated because Snyder’s bold visual style, marked by striking cinematography and meticulous attention to detail, has redefined comic book adaptations, bringing an intensity that’s rare in blockbuster cinema.

His commitment to darker, mythic storytelling offers a unique and divisive counterpoint to the often formulaic superhero genre. The hate began with his take on Superman in his Man of Steel, with him becoming even more polarizing after the “Martha!” scene in BvS. The hate seemed to go into overdrive with the online campaign to get his Justice League cut released. It would garner passionate support from his fan base while also gaining more contempt from his critics. Is the hate justified?
