‘Jojo Rabbit’ Trailer: It’s a Beautiful Day for an Imaginary Nazi Friend

FOX Searchlight has just released the new Jojo Rabbit trailer, and I didn’t know having Adolf Hitler as your imaginary friend could be so funny!

When I had first heard about Jojo Rabbit and how Taika Waititi would be playing Adolf Hitler, I thought he was going to actually be playing Hitler. Instead, he’s playing an imaginary version of the Nazi Dictator.

This film looks absolutely beautiful with a story that looks to blend fantasy with realism. I’m not ashamed to admit I didn’t realize Hitler was in the boy’s head until he was chilling with him at home. I’m wondering if the film will also make the audience wonder if what we’re seeing play out is real or make-believe.

Plot Synopsis:

Writer director Taika Waititi (THOR: RAGNAROK, HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE), brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, JOJO RABBIT, a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy (Roman Griffin Davis as JoJo) whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi), Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.

Jojo Rabbit hits theaters October 18, 2019.
